What Is Christianity?
Christianity is the good news that God came to us in Jesus Christ so we could be forgiven, restored, and made new.
Christianity Begins With Jesus
Christianity is not mainly about religious rules, moral improvement, or trying harder to be a good person. Christianity is about Jesus Christ and what God has done for us through His life, death, and resurrection.
The Bible teaches that God created us to know Him, but sin separates us from God, and we cannot rescue ourselves. The good news is that Jesus came to us, died on the cross for our sins, rose again, and offers forgiveness and new life to everyone who turns to Him in repentance and faith.
At Grace Bible Maui, our vision is simple: Know God. Make Him Known. Christianity begins when we come to know God through Jesus, and it grows as we learn to follow Him and make Him known to others.
The Gospel in Four Movements
God Created Us
God created all things good, including every person in His image. We were made to know Him, love Him, worship Him, and live in relationship with Him.
Sin Separates Us
Sin is our turning away from God. It breaks our relationship with Him and leaves us unable to save ourselves.
What Does It Mean to Follow Jesus?
Following Jesus means receiving His grace and learning to live a new life with Him. It means trusting His Word, walking with the Holy Spirit, joining the church, being baptized, growing in prayer, and becoming the kind of person who loves God and loves others.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you come to Jesus. You can begin with honest questions, a willing heart, and a simple prayer: “Jesus, I need You. I believe You died for the forgiveness of my sins and rose again. Forgive me, lead me, and help me follow You.”
At Grace Bible Maui, we believe discipleship is simple but life-changing: follow Jesus, stay connected to His people, and help others follow Him too.
Common Questions
-
No. Following Jesus begins with faith, not perfect understanding. God welcomes honest questions and meets us with grace.
-
Christianity produces a changed life, but it begins with grace. We are not saved by our own goodness. We are saved by what Jesus has done for us.
-
Turn to Jesus in prayer, trust Him as your Savior and Lord, and tell someone. We would love to help you take your next step.
-
Yes. Following Jesus is personal, but it is not meant to be private or isolated. The church is the family of God where believers worship, grow, serve, and make disciples together.
