Responding With Hope
Since the August 2023 Maui wildfires, Grace Bible Maui has served affected families through emergency assistance, practical care, community partnerships, and continued recovery support.

Walking With Families Through Recovery
Through the Maui Fire Response, Grace Bible Maui distributed more than $531,000 directly to 1,100 Lahaina families who lost their homes in the wildfires.
The church has also helped provide counseling, pastoral care, essential supplies, and connections to additional community resources.
Continued Care
More Than Rebuilding
Long-term housing remains an important part of Maui’s recovery. Through generous donors and community partners, the church continues pursuing practical ways to support displaced families.
Recovery includes emotional and spiritual care as well as physical assistance. Our desire is to walk alongside families with dignity, compassion, prayer, and lasting relationships.
Serving Lahaina Families
Volunteers, churches, businesses, and community organizations have worked together to provide care, encouragement, and moments of joy.
Community Care
Christmas Outreach
Grace Bible Maui and its partners hosted a Christmas outreach for Lahaina families with gifts, meals, family activities, entertainment, and opportunities to connect with caring volunteers. We provided over 1,000 gifts, served 1,200 meals (pancakes, sausage & fried rice) with over 150 volunteers!
The gathering created space for families to experience encouragement, community, and hope during a difficult season of recovery.
From Crisis to Recovery
In the earliest days of the disaster, churches and community partners responded quickly to help meet urgent needs throughout West Maui.
Emergency Response
Meeting Immediate Needs
During the initial response, Grace Bible Maui and its partners helped:
- Provide temporary shelter and care for displaced residents.
- Prepare and distribute meals for evacuees and first responders.
- Deliver fuel, water, food, and essential medical supplies.
- Operate distribution efforts for clothing, hygiene products, bedding, and other necessities.
- Offer prayer, counseling, and continued personal support.
